I just heard that Royal and I won the Special Events Award for Best Balloon
Creation.  Unfortunately, neither of us were able to make it last night, so
I have to thank everyone now. :-)

Thanks to Pioneer for providing the product and offering support.  Leo
Verlinden and Johan Wijns from IBS in Belgium not only organized the event,
brought us to Europe, and provided a place for us to construct a piece of
art unlike anything done before, but they were accessible to us around the
clock to truly be part of the team for this project and they deserve
recognition for that.

Patty Sorell put up with a lot of headaches.  She was the one trying to
keep everything on the up and up for the Guinness folks since she was the
one doing all the counting of balloons and managing product so nothing was
misused.  Her organizational skills were a huge asset.

And of course I want to give a big thank you to the crew of 44 people that
worked ridiculous hours to help get this thing built.  It was a challenge
for a number of reasons.  The biggest is that our crew members came from 10
countries and spoke 7 different languages.  We couldn't all communicate
directly with one another using words, but balloons proved to be a truly
universal medium that everyone understood.
