First, twist the two side bubbles quite a few times. 
I try to twist them about seven complete rotations
before separating them.   Try drawing a dot on them
and counting how many times you turn the bubble to get
to six or seven complete rotations.  If you are
splitting them, only twist them enough to hold them,
then twist as many times as you can after you make the
split.

Secondly, flick your bic, not your bubbles.
