Subject: number of twists
To: balloon hq <balloon@balloonhq.com>

Hi all,
Another rather technical and unimportant question from
me. But it's another one of those that keeps me awake
at night.
Whenever I meet another twister and start chatting
balloons at some point they will say that they know
someone who does a complex model then quote the number
of twists (ie such and such does a caterpillar with 40
twists) or they will ask me about the trickiest
balloon I make then ask me how many twists are in it.
this q always throws me. how do you count the number
of twists in a balloon? doesn't it depend on how you
make it. For example a lock twist in the middle of a
balloon can be done in two twists, I find it easiest
to do it in three but some people do it in 4. is a
pinch twist one twist or 3? On the whole I find it a
bit of a silly way to rate models but everyone I meet
seems to use it as the standard scale for balloons,
has anybody written the guidelines?
cheers
magic g
