Tried the stamp pad (hey I'm sitting at my desk with and address stamp and
balloons so why not?).
    The stamp is very legible on the balloon, until you inflate, then it
fades rapidly, still legible but not impressive. A while ago I inflated some
rounds and wrote "Thank you for coming to my Party" (permanent marker),
deflated them and put them in the loot bags for my sons birthday. That
worked well.
    There is also a pretty good adult gag you can do with this method,
garanteed to make the women blush, and make the men take a swing at you!
