Hello all~

I agree with a lot of what Sir Richard, has to say many of his points are
valid on many different levels. Sir Richard points out (and rightly so):

"...there are performers (I use the word loosely) that seem to think that
simply because what they're doing is "Magic" that it is automatically
elevated to Entertainment. Balloonists sometimes suffer the same
delusion, but at least the customer gets something."

I have turned down a lot of work recently (even though , "I could really
use the money.") because, I am a striaght twister and not much of an
entertainer. I even almost went to work for balloon Abilities,as that is
about my level of twisting, but that went bust when they misrepresented
insurance to me, but that is another topic. I know what I can do and what
I can't do. I however have seen a few balloon twisters around town, who
are one ballloon wonders (not that, that is a bad thing), doing parties
that I have attended and doing a REALLY BAD job, which gives all of us a
bad name. I agree will Sir Richard on this point, Just because, one does
balloons that does not make you an entertainer (I am working on the
entertainer part any one looking for an apprintance???? J/K).

There is much I disagree with what Sir Richard had to say, but this is
America and we can agree to disagree and wishing to keep this in the
realm of balloons and balloon related business, I will stick to that
issue:

Sir Richard says:

"3) Have respect for the track owners. You're working for them. "

I feel that Marydell aka DILLIE, was being respectfull of the owners by
informing them up front:

"I told him that I am a Christian clown and that my balloon tags had a
gospel message on them."

By informing them of this fact, she prevents a problem down the road and
it gives the options of hiring someone who will not put a Christian
message on a tag. I think that this is a fair an honest approach to doing
business.

There is much to learn in Sir Richards, posting that many new twisters,
such as myself can learn from (at least relating to balloons).

just my two cents worths.

Sir T

I just had a phone call from the Guam greyhound races for me to twist
balloons for the kids there at a derby race. I told him that I am a
Christian clown and that my balloon tags had a gospel message on them. I
thought that would be the end of it but he said that was fine and that if
I
wanted to bring some of my broachers I can. I never thought that I would
get payed to witness at the dog races. Has anyone got any advice for me.
