Subject: Balloons Around the World!

Hello from Alaska!

As you might know, Wednesday, October 3rd, 2001 is the day when balloon
animal twisters will be getting together all around the world to donate an
hour of their time to a local good cause during BALLOONS AROUND THE WORLD.
As of this morning, we have 51 participants from 20 U.S. states, a few from
Ontario, Canada, and even twisters from Germany, Guam, New Zealand, Puerto
Rico, and Singapore.

I have contacted the governors of the US states that have participants so
far to see if they can make a proclamation, and have been getting favorable
response. I try to include local contact information if I can, and as the
day gets closer, I imagine we'll have a few governors on line. I'm working
on the territories and other countries too. I always feel that the bigger
we can make this event, the more smiles we can generate. I'll make sure
everyone gets a copy of their proclaimation if their gov's office didn't
send them one.

If you haven't signed up yet, please do so soon, as it helps the national
publicity efforts. Locally, last year, twisters did a fantastic job of
getting the word out locally. If anyone needs any assistance on that front,
please let me know.

I've figured out a way to update the listings, so if you're holding off on
signing up until you get your locations confirmed, sign up now and update
by e-mailing me directly. You could also sign up again, and I can delete
the older entry. It makes it easier to get an early start on things if we
have LOTS of participants.
