Subject: transforming weiner dog/giraffe
My favourite dog is the incredible transforming wiener dog:
Make a simple wiener dog (lock twist ears and legs...nothing fancy!) but
keep the following proportions in mind:
- fully inflate the balloon (burp well!)
-the ears should be the same size as the front legs
-make the body long enough to then make the back legs and tail the same
size as the nose and ears.
The bit goes something like this: An indecisive child settles on a
surprise. You create the "dog" which is rather comical, since the body
is usually disproportionately long! Then you tell the tot that if he/she
changes his/her mind and would like something else....(turn the head 1/2
way around to face the back, rotate the figure 1/4 rotation so the nose,
ears and front legs now become the tail and 4 legs of the new creature;
finally, turn the dog's "tail" and back legs around to form the head of
the transformed "Giraffe" (also a bizarre looking creature with a wacky
long neck and short little legs!).
Very fun!
