Subject: Promotion, event notifications, and membership

Recently I have received many requests for information regarding promotion
of events, new products, and meetings on the mailing lists of BalloonHQ.
As there have been many I have decided to take this opportunity to attempt
to clarify certain policies.

A single notification of a new product, event, or meeting is acceptable on
the twister and decorator mailing lists.  However, repeated announcements
of the same product or event is not.  Also, we would appreciate avoidance
of advertising hype in these announcements.  A simple post with pertinent
facts would suffice.  Private contact information may be included in such
posts.

Remember, meetings and events can also be listed on the BalloonHQ Calendar
of Events by paid members.  Listing these events on the website allows
them to be visible to a larger viewer base, as many individuals who
may not be on the mailing lists peruse the web resources.  For your money,
its hard to find a more effective resource.  Besides, membership fees help
to fund the work of BalloonHQ, allowing us to provide better services on
the whole to balloon professionals.
