I always tell people that you get what you pay for. My show, magic, is
priced higher than some others in my area. When ever someone tells me that
they are going to look around before they hire me I tell them flat out that
there a cheaper entertainers around but you are paying for skill. I have
had many people tell me that my show is worth every penny. More than once
this has turned them around and they have booked my show before looking
around. I also use a similar line when parents complain to me about another
act that I have never seen or heard of. The difference is that I end it
saying, “Next time you should hire me.”
