I just realized I had never put out a summary of what had been suggested to
me for the hosts at restaurants - what to make them. Thanks for all who
answered my query. What a great list!
There were two general ideas: First, make something big to put at the front
by the host desk and then let one of the hosts take it home. This can also
be used for huge emergencies - very unhappy customers, etc., but instruct
the hosts not to just give it away willy-nilly (great word, huh?) because
it's valuable.
The second idea was to make them things individually, and here's some of the
stuff:
Small things on barrettes for the hair, especially made out of 260s. The
tiny claw clips can also be used.
bow ties
arm bands
make things that can be put in the hair in various ways, such as flowers for
pony tails, shamrocks at St. Paddy's day (I did this - it was great), small
creations where some of the hair can be inserted between parts of the
animals such as the front legs.
I make antennae and other small silly hats, but they don't stay on long.
I also personally make flower corsages for the wrists with the 6-petal
flower and then instead of making a stem I just blow up 1 inch, put it
through the middle, then loop the rest of the balloon around and back into
the flower, making a loop for the wrist. I also hide the nozzle inside the
flower because it makes it look nicer.
This gave me lots of ideas, and I'll use many of them but when I do still
make individual balloons I'm still stuck for "guy" things that are small to
wear, so I'm still on a search. Thanks again.
