"The discussion here is intended to help readers make informed decisions
that will prevent future loss of life."

"you may lose consciousness quickly and without warning-you may literally
pass out while still standing. The usual result is an uncontrolled fall that
can cause serious injury, even if normal breathing resumes before brain
damage occurs due to lack of oxygen."

Quoted from the Compressed Gas Association website. These are possible
results of inhaling helium from balloons, a practice which is being given
approval, if not actively promoted, by the Fedex commercial.
We are not talking about a passing scene with someone not wearing a
seatbelt, or someone carrying a cigarette, but demonstration of a practice
which could lead directly to death or injury.
If you are not sure how you should react, ask your mother.
