I am just a little distressed and will try to keep this brief. Below you will find referenced two emails, one sent to me directly and one sent to the list. I am still a little new around here and don't want to step on any toes or irritate people. I read a request from a fellow artist asking for assistance on face painting. As we are not all so fortunate to be able to support ourselves solely on our balloon skills alone, and as I was under the impression that this was a forum for aiding other members of our artistic community I decided to help out. You all received a rather detailed email on facepainting a couple of days back and I apologize for any inconvenience you may have suffered by receiving this message. I was only trying to help out as many folks as possible. I am also quite sorry to see that some folks were not able to discern by reading the subject line on the email that the content of said message would not necessarily pertain to their specific interests and did not just choose to delete it as I have done with postings that I have received and not had need of. I do understand that this is a forum for exchanging information in the BALLOON world, but as a clown and children's entertainer for over 7 years now I was under the impression that this service was a kind of kissing cousin as it were. I reiterate that I do not wish to create any animosity with any of my fellow artists and am only trying to lend a helping hand when one is requested, however after receiving a couple of messages similar in strain to the one below I will now seriously think twice about offering help. Not that it matters, but I went to tremendous effort to help out the original requester as I had just been severely bitten by a cat and could only type with one hand. To have that hand slapped so hard really hurts. Again, I apologize for any inconvenience any of you may have suffered on my behalf and, incidentally I also want to thank those of you who did not feel as the gentleman below did and were gracious and generous with your advice and assistance as well. Thanks to you kind folks I found out about some other sites that will help me immensely. No hard feelings, just slightly hurt ones, Take care, Tisza Major AKA Ellie The Clown Subj: Re: face painting help :-) Date: 2/17/00 12:19:09 AM Pacific Standard Time From: flatfoot@iafrica.com (Garth) To: Ellietc@aol.com please keep this crap off the BALLOON list ----- Original Message ----- From: <Ellietc@aol.com> To: <whaley_f@popmail.firn.edu> Cc: balloon list <balloon@balloonhq.com> Sent: Tuesday, February 15, 2000 8:21 AM Subject: face painting help :-)p a fellow artist and getting my hands Date: 2/14/00 3:10:32 PM Pacific Standard Time From: whaley_f@popmail.firn.edu (whaley_f) Reply-to: whaley_f@popmail.firn.e du To: balloon@balloonhq.com (balloon list) I know it's probably in the guide but my server isn't acting right right now. I have a party coming up and I'm supposed to face paint. Not a problem. But.... What type of paints should I get? Brushes? Do I need a different brush for each child or just one per color? Thanks.
