Arla,
I've got to ask a serious question here; Do you often get accused of
sharking others business? I mean 1 out of ten calls isn't spectacular, but
it's not unreasonable. 5 out of ten is still pretty incredible, but around
here, if someone is booking 9 out of ten calls, the competition is either
non-existent, horribly lacking in skills and manners, or the person booking
all the shows is horribly underpriced. I never boast that I book 9 out of
ten shows. It makes me look like I am not charging enough. I am booking
roughly 7 out of ten show calls I get, so I am seriously thinking about a
price increase in the future. 90% of all our bookings come from people who
have seen us at any of a number of events in the metro Birmingham area,
couple that with a slick promotional packet, and incredibly good phone
skills on the part of my wife, we have a rather high booking average.
But I don't think it's right to point fingers and say 1 out of ten is a bad
number. If they get 100 calls a week, that's still ten confirmed bookings!
You can do the rest of the math from there.
Anyhow, that's all I've got to say about it.
Hoping ya'll have a great time at T-Jam!
Stay Twisted
