Subject: Teaching Balloon Classes
Hello List:
I wanted to share a small triumph with you all. I survived the first
of a series of 4 balloon classes that I am teaching for a local
elementary school's lunch activity programme. I requested a maximum of
10 students (it's full!). There are 3 girls and 7 boys, 10-11 years of
age.
Thanks to some great ideas from the guide and some helpful advice
from some of y'all a few months back when the idea was born, I ran a
pretty good class. For anyone interested, I have a lesson plan that I am
more than happy to share (either to help anyone else who wishes to do
such a class, or to gain feedback from someone who might offer me
further inspiration). Email me privately if you like.
One idea I came up with that worked really well was to give each
student a pre-inflated balloon as they walked in, and have them write
their name on it with a sharpie and twist it into a simple headband hat.
Voila! Their first creation, and a "name tag" so that I could address
them all by name right away. We also covered balloon safety (briefly)
and made a fish, swan and sword. All this in a half hour. Whew! I can't
wait until next week.
Be well and SMILE.....all of you!!!!!

not in clown..... Twizzy Lizzy? What do you think?)
