I WISH someone had told me that before I tried to tell the story of creation with
balloons in a fifteen minute time slot, and ended up knocking the minister out of
time as I took closer to 40 minutes! (I know this was not very professional, but
I was very new and WAY too eager to show EVERY figure I knew!) They were mostly
friends and every kid got a balloon (I didn't know they had such a large kid population
- boy were my fingers sore at the end). I got mostly positive comments and I appologised
to everyone for the time factor - all very forgiving.
Getting someone to blow up a giant yellow weather balloon for the sun was a great
idea - waiting for them to finish wasn't! Then twisting trees, fish, birds, clouds,
stars, animals, etc, and three or four of each... Get the picture??? I preinflated
everything and pretwisted a few (should have been all) so I hate to think what would
have happened if I hadn't even done that!
I'm mentor-less down here (Australia originally, and now New Zealand) so I'm really
appreciating hearing all your helpful stories on this list. I really wish "TJAM
DOWN UNDER" would happen one day :o)
As it is, I've managed to find one twister from Wellington to come down here to Christchurch
and have a little NZjam all of our own tomorrow. (Nervous as it's my first one!)
