OH!!! The post of not enough new creations being posted hath stung me to the
quick. (I'm not sure where the quick is located but it sounded good). Anyway
a few months back I woke up one morning and the very first thought I had was
about how to make a different monkey. I think I may have been dreaming about
it and woke up in mid-dream. Anyway this is a great monkey. The head is an
adaptation of a mountain goat that was posted on BHQ. My thanks to whomever's
goat that was.
1. Take a 6" heart (pink seems to work best) and under inflate to 4".
Twist a soft large 2" bubble at the nozzle end. Ear twist this and then
split it in half. These 2 small bubbles will eventually be the eyes.
2. Inflate a brown (although yellow, blue , and purple are sometimes
requested) leaving about a 3" tail.
3. Twist a soft 1" or 2" bubble at the nozzle end. Wrap this completely
around the 2 small bubbles on the heart. (If you can-ear twist this later to
hide the knot and to give more character). This will be the nose. On the
other side of the eyes, opposite the nose, fold twist one 4" bubble and then
another. These are the ears.
4. Make a 3 or 4" neck and then ear twist a 1" bubble. This is where the arms
will attach.
5. Take a second brown and create a pair of arms. My favorite is to make the
hands with a 4 bubble series so that he can hold a banana later. Attach the
arms at the pinch twist in the neck.
6. Take a third brown and create some legs. Again my favorite are the type
that Marvin uses on his 350 dog. Inflate the balloon leaving about a 3"
tail. Make a 2" bubble at the nozzle end. wrap a 4 or 5" bubble around the
2" bubble. Make a 1" ear twist for support. Repeat at other end for the other
foot. Attach legs about 5" below the arms. This will leave about 10" or more
in the first brown balloon which can be nicely curled for a great tail.
7. Sharpie to taste. Add Banana.
Ya gotta try this guy. I call him Darwin but many people say "Oh look! Curios
George.!"
