I wondered how long it would take for someone to bring up the "balloon
machine" argument...

I was referring to one venue only, where I sell the balloon figures (in
other venues I employ other methods). I am responsible to the management of
where I work (I pay them a percentage) to make as much as I can, as fast as
I can. I'm not there to entertain, I'm there to sell balloons. BUT as I
stated earlier, speed can be entertaining, if you do it right. I get
comments all the time on how fast I do them, plus laughter at the little
bits I add in. They are entertained, they are satisfied, they are happy.
But most important, the management is happy (I average two to four times as
much as any other clown who has worked the same place).
