Another thing to do to prepare is to go through what you want to say in
front of a full length mirror. Ahh yes, painful and funny at first, but
the more you do it, the better you will get and can see what looks good.
Have an outline of the main points you want to cover but don't try
reading something verbatim. Speak slowly and clearly, but not so slow
that it does not sound normal. Watch the ums, ya know, and other filler
words that we sometimes use in normal speech but will not work for a
commercial. Once you've done that, get someone to video you a few times
practicing prior to the actual taping. Above all, smile and have fun
which will come across to the viewers.
