Jack Porcello of New York has a book coming out (is it out yet, Jack?) on
storytelling with balloons. He's coming here to Denver for a Fellowship of
Christian Magicians conference (in August, e-mail me for details) so I'm
buying his book then. He has given some good advice about this, and you can
use volunteers from the audience, too, dressing them up like the characters
in the story and then having them act the story out with you.

How about a story everyone at the school knows, like the recent football
victory or something? I use this storytelling technique at many birthday
parties and it's really effective. It's made my birthday parties unique.
You can also add a great comic effect if you get the principal or a favorite
teacher to participate. In an upcoming magic show that a friend of mine is
doing, he's cutting the principal of an elementary school in half and we're
sure that will go over wonderfully.

Tell him kudos for getting up and doing something so unique!
