I never send out a pre-signed contract.  I always make the other party sign
and return a copy.  That way they cannot make any additions, and claim I
knew about it.  I make it so that I must approve any additions.
I also never send out a signed contract FROM another party, unless I keep a
copy, for the same reason.
Been there, been burnt.
