Oh no! An opinion/preference question!!! I highly recommend using a pump, to anyone who has difficulty blowing by mouth. There is no shame in the inability to mouth inflate. I often give balloons to mouthy Conan wanna-bes who think I have a sissy job and I recommend this to those twisters who use pumps and receive negative comments. Pumps also protect against the spread of disease, thus protecting small children from illness as a result of puting balloons in their mouths. Dehydration is another concern, constant blowing puts out a large amount of fluid and a busy twister has a hard time taking a break. There are also rumors of internal eye damage after years of mouth inflation and I myself have had popping balloons hit my eye causing impressive pain. I am a confirmed mouth blower. Why? Time mostly. I often inflate multiples (2 or more balloons at once) for my creations. I find it much easier to blow 2-4 balloons and be done than to find pump, remove pump, place balloon on pump, inflate balloon, remove pump, stow pump, tie balloon, stow balloon, find pump, you get the idea. There is of course the enjoyment I derive from people staring at me in awe as I inflate several balloons while they acquire an anurism trying to do one. I have an aversion to nose inflation though. Yes I did say nose inflation. I met a twister who periodically inflates 2 balloons, 1 per nostril, as part of his routine. Nasty, nasty nasty. He was confused as to why noone ever wanted the design made from his nose inflated balloons. I would definitely stay clear from attempts to inflate with any other apertures. Side note: Lorna, I still only do 6 at once and only rarely, I bow to the Queen. Remember you are the best twister in your socks, which I hear can be used as a sling/holster for a faster blaster or other hand pumps. Tim McConeghy CBA LORD OF LATEX Inflated Impressions LLC
