For me it depends on how the child is accepting the balloon. If they
appreciate what I am doing, and genuinely like the creation (saying "cool"
or "wow") I'll take that as a thank you. (Hey, I'm easy)
If they seem unappreciative I might ask in a joking way for a thank you. Or
grit my teeth and bear it. Depends on the situation.
If I feel the gratitude is there, I don't need to hear the words, thank
you...
