I too solicit a bit of information from the caller - type of event, number 
and age of children, location and then I give a price.  I have set package 
pricing for parties (we do more than just twist so I have 5 different 
packages).  I also send the prices out when I get emailed.  

Yup, some people could just be my competition, it happens.  Personally, I am 
a typical "Type A" individual - "cut to the chase and tell me the bottom 
line."  Unfortunately, if I called my friends Bruce Kalver and Laura Dakin 
and got a side step, I would not hire them (love ya guys - nothing personal). 
 That's just my "cut and dry" personality.  I would feel like if I called 
back again the price would change.  So, because I can be the neurotic 
customer, I eliminate that from my business and have set package pricing.
