Being in a somewhat rural area, we will ask where they live and quote
different prices based on our travel time. Prices could range by $50 per
hour. If we are hired for more than one hour we might give a discount for
additional time as our travel is made up in the first hour. Last Saturday
our first job was 35 miles east and our second job 55 miles west. We spend
a lot of window time and try to get compensated for it.

I also try to get a feel for what other balloonists (clowns) charge in an
area and if it is more than I charge then I will qoute the going rate. If
it is less, I will usually stick with my fee for that area. I also price
differently for different times of the year. The old supply and demand. In
the summer when we are busy, I will charge more than in the winter. If I
have an open date in the summer, I might charge less just to fill it (its
either that or work on the "Honey do list").

As you can see, we never keep just one price and charge it all the time.
Each job is different and requires a different fee.

Yours in Laughter;
