This really was a great suggestion for a topic. For those of you who do
parties where people speak Jersey, here are a few samples of expressions
you'll probably find useful in this beautiful, romantic language. Perhaps
these will stimulate some readers to further study.

Hi boys and girls...it's great to be here today...........Yo, wassup?
I hope you're all having a great time at Billy's party....How ya doin'?
Were you able to understand me?...........................You know what I'm
sayin'?
I'm sorry, I don't know how to make a <blank>..........Hey, I got your
<blank>, right here.
I'm all done talking now...........................................or what?

Six-petal daisy...........flowa
Lorna's Rose..............red flowa

Brontosaurus............dinosaw
Tyrannosaurus Rex.....dinosaw
Triceratops...............dinosaw

Puppy......................dawg
Monkey on a Tree......monkey on a tree
Monkey on a Three....monkey on a tree

Quartz Purple.............purple
Lilac..........................purple
Violet........................purple
Amethyst..................purple

Some expressions don't translate well to a list with mixed readership. An
example for this might be the Jersey idiom which translates roughly to, "I
disagree with your suggestion that I'm cheating by using a pump". Other
expressions, such as "I really think you should have tipped me for this 12
balloon sculpture", are actually manual signs when speaking Jersey.

Happy speakin'!

Twistin' the night away...
