Greetings to all fellow and fellette balloon twisters! Hi, My name is Scoott Alcalay, and I am a balloon twister. But I have been clean from that for one year now. Let me tell you how it all started.........shift to dream haze...... We take you back to 1972.......aincent history to some, but the beginnings for one young 12 year old kid named Scott Alcalay. Purcchaseing boxes (yes, balloons from the Toy Time rubber company came in boxes!) of balloons and a kit that was by I dont remember who, told hoow to make about 1/2 dozzen animals. Then there were the books by Roger Seigle and Jimmy somebody which really got me started. I would venture out to venice beach and century city shopping center and have my place set up handing out balloons for the hat money. For the next 25 years I would always have te balloons at my side. I was the consumate performer and loving it! I had the opportunity while living in Los Angeles to be Twisting balloons along with some of the really top name magicians. My resume includes performances with The Magic Castle, Make a wish, Athletes and entertainers for kids, county fairs, festavals, restaurants and on. But one day, my mind went *snap* and I realized that I was getting no where just being a balloon man/magician. I realized I finally needed a formal education. I spent from 1972 to the present fine tuning the show I neglected a college education. Well I went back to school and plan to become a special ed teacher. I will continue to use magic as a vehical and balloons as tools of the trade, but NO MORE table busking! I have a moral pholosophy about tipping depending upon the situation. I hopefully try to display good taste while performing. A famous magician one said, "Life is too short to watch bad magic." I believe him. magically yours, scott "no home page yet, but jpg's upon request" alcalay
