Bob sent me a resopnse about quality that made me think about clairfying the
problem of varing quality.

<<Bob - My response to this is that you should not carry an inferior product.
 I would
like to suggest that you and your company will suffer greatly from the
perceived loss of quality in the marketplace. You only have to look at what
were once top line names and how they have gone down in reputation since
then.
Look at where you will sjop today versus where you dis some years ago! A
value system that does not promote quality is only hurting us all!!! Hold a
manufacturer responsible. Its only fair to you and your clients!
have a fun day! :) >>

I agree, quality is most important and everybody suffers from low quality. I
want twisters to expect T. Myers Magic to always have the highest quality
balloons. (I would if I had a multi millions to invest and 10 years to learn
how to make balloons.) The deal is, I just sell them. We are all in this
boat together.

Imagine you were in this situation.

You are hired to do a balloon twisting show and that's all they want you to
do, nothing else. Due to no fault of your own, you can only get below
adverage balloons. Do you refuse to do the show? How bad do the balloons
have to be before doing the show is impossible? Where do you draw the line,
dissapoint your customer and lose your income?

As for quality. I am not married to Qualatex. My responsiblity is to my
customers. I am going to tell them the truth and in my opinion, right now,
Qualatex makes the best balloon with the least variation. This is all very
subjective but my opinion comes from conversing with lots of twisters and
using the balloons myself. If things changed and another manufacturer came
up with a better more consistant balloon I would stock it (if possible),
promote it with an honest opinion and see how you guys respond.

I do carry other manufacturer's balloons. Some of them have very good and
different qualities. Other balloons are also a back up if Qualatex has a
labor strike or if I have to send back bad balloons, at least there is
something to work with.

The best way to keep quality up is to let them know what you think of their
product every time you get an inferior batch. I'm happy to refund or replace
and I work to funnel information to Qualatex.

Larry,

I think your opinion about hand picking balloons not being worth the trouble
makes a lot of sense.

Thanks, Tom Myers
